hello,
i just want to make a little application that gets data introduced by the user (for example, the number of rows shown, the number of columns, the database where the data is..) and pass all the data to CR so it constructs a report with all that information and create some buttons to save the report, print it...

and another thing. i've installed MySQL server on my pc and i've created a DDBB and a table in it. how can i make crystal reports get the data of the MySQL DB?

thanks so much for the answers!!Tongue

Your "little application" is actually pretty darn tricky to do.  It can be done.  But describing how to do it is WAY beyond the capabilities of a forum post.  You might check out Brian's book on Crystal programming.

As to connecting to MySQL, it should be pretty straightforward.  Just create an ODBC connection to your database.  Then, use that ODBC connection in Crystal.

Hi Iozan, the book doesn't cover java or eclipse. I only program in .NET and have no idea how the java world works. So unfortunately the book wouldn't be of any help to you.
