Okay.... Would it be possible to create a crystal report that can be scheduled to run automatically and automatically produce an output (say in excel)... (I know the answer... yes... but also) and for that output to be used by another piece of code/software to automatically update a database based on the fields in the original report output?

So what you essentially have is a report running based on previous days figures and the underlying database amended based on those figures, overnight, without human interaction?
