Hi, New to this group so hope you guys can help me.

I am writing a report that combines data from two tables. I have selected to have all data from master and all records that match from the child table. The problem I have is that I need a selection on the child record but still need to retain the master record in the report if all child records are excluded.

Ie
If the master has a record and the child field is colour, if there are three records of Yellow, Blue and Green but the selection is Red then I wantn it to say 0 for No of reds.

Sorry this is garbled but hope you see what I need.

Thanks

If you're displaying all the records from the master table, then do the child records show null for the ones that don't have matching data? If so, go under Report > Options and select the option to use default values for nulls. This will make it display a zero (or empty string) for fields where the child record doesn't have a match.
