    Posted: 02 Mar 2011 at 11:44pm
Hi,

I created reports using Crystal XI (version 11.0) and database sql server 2005 using oledb connection. After report created i deployed in CMC.

Now i want to change to ODBC connection type.

Report which does not have subreports are working fine while using ODBC connection type.

Reports which have subreports getting error like
"
Error in File E:\BOInstallation\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\WBWBURPVCLAR3.reportjobserver\~tmp124c67edef37980.rpt: The request could not be submitted for background processing".

By using OLEDB connection it is working fine.

Can any one help me on this

Edit the report with the subreports.   Go to each subreport and Set Datasource Location for each to point to the new ODBC connection.  Then do the same in the main report.  Sometimes changing the location from the main report doesn't propagate down into the subreports correctly and I think that's what you're experiencing.

I updated both sub report and main report. now it is showling error msg like" Error in File E:\BOInstallation\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\WBWBURTVCLAR2.reportjobserver\~tmp1984681c547e000.rpt: Error in formula <Period hdr>. '"Period: "+ {?param_period}' This field name is not known. Details: errorKind"

But the same report using OLEDB connection type it is working.

That's odd, because it doesn't look like you have a field in the formula - instead you havea  parameter.  Does the parameter still exist with that same name?
