Howdy!
 
In my CR2008 report, I've got 17 sections and each section has 2 subsections. Can anybody advise me how to count detail line items?
 
I'm not sure if I gave you enough info to help. Let me know if I need to provide more details.

if records are unique, or there is a key field. You can just create a RT in the footer, and evaluate or do a distinct count of all records.
