I am getting the following message when trying to run a report in Crystal 2008.

"failed to retrieve data from the database. details: HY000:[cache ODBC][State : S1000][Native Code 10054][C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Business Objects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\crw3] Socket: connection reset by peer (due to timeout or reboot)[Database vendor Code 10054]

some reports are able to run and others get the message above.

Any suggestions?

What type of database connection are you using?  What type of database are you connecting to?  Do the reports that are failing take a long time to run?

I haven't ever worked with a cache database, but I would check the following in the reports that aren't working:

1.  Make sure they're pointing to the same datasource location as the reports that work.

2.  Validate that the query that Crystal is running works in the database in a tool outside of Crystal.
