Always the date perameter that I have used is the default where you type in the date or use the date picker
Some how I have created a report that does not give the option to type in the date but has a calendar diplayed with only back and forward arrrows so the date can only be moved month at a time (considering they have to move to 16 years ago this is a rather time consuming option
)
I have looked at the properties of the perameter field as well as checking that the formulas look similar to my other reports

Can any one give me a clue as to how I have created such a design faux pas?
