I am using CR Developer edition XI. When I add a datasource (in this case an excel spreadsheet, does the same with an Access table) thathas a couple thousand records (one was 4000, another 10,000) there is a crosstab that is supposed to be populated with the data for all the records.

 

When it is loading th new data, CR crashes and then quits out. I noticed however that if I take the topN (in my case I took the top 500) and added the datasource again, it would then populate the crosstab with the 500 records of data without problems.

 

My question is, is there a limit to how many records CR can hold in its crosstabs? Or could it be a data problem somewhere. I haven't really looked for the maximum number, but would like to know if someone knows the answer or not.
