Hello,
I would like to know if there can be a trigger written in Crystal Reports (I know I can write in Oracle Reports), where I can invoke some Oracle stored procedure that will insert some audit records into Oracle Database. That include the name of the report and access time.

I heard from a friend that we can not do this, however I feel that there should be some way of invoking stored procedure or just place an insert statement in Crystal reports.

Basically I am looking for certain triggering events such as "When Open Report" or "When Close Report".

Thank you for looking into this post and thank you for your time.

I don't know that you'll be able to get "when open" or "when close" events.  However, you can run stored procedures and you can update data.  If you do a search on the forums for Data Update, you should find information about how to do that.

Good, at least to hear that I can run stored procs and update (or what ever is stored proc can do). If you can point me to a known example that would be appreciated. However I will once again do a keen search on this topic.

Thank you,
