i use c# 2008 with .net 2.0 project with crystal report for .net
and want before the report load to detect if the report has data or not

The only way to do that would be to run the query for the report in your application and determine whether it has data. You could load the data from the query into a DataSet and then connect the report to the DataSet instead of to the tables.
