Hello everyone,

I wonder a small question about Crystal Report.

When I want to display a field from a table, I drag and drop the field from the "fields explorer". When I need to change the created field to another field, I delete it and a drag and drop the new one.

Is there a way like in VB / C# to just change a property, like DataSourceMember? Because I have to reformat the new object everytime and it is time consuming when there is a several fields to change.

Thank you,
Have a nice day!
Sébastien

Hi Sebastien,

You can't change the field and insert a new one without deleting it. However, one trick around this is to use a formula which returns a field's value. Then, if you ever want it to return a different value, you can change the formula. This can also be done in code to make your reports more dynamic. Chapter 16 in the book discusses how to do this.
