Type of Problem:

Scheduling a Crystal report with format to PDF and emails (SMTP) we receive the following error: Error in File D:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\reportws01-bur.reportjobserver\~tmp4fc49b34f2fb2e.rpt: Error detected by export DLL:.

Operating System:

BO Enterprise XI r2 on Windows 2000 Server and RDBMS is Microsoft SQL 2000 on Windows 2000 Server

Brief summary

Scheduling a Crystal report with format to PDF and emails (SMTP) we receive the following error: Error in File D:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\reportws01-bur.reportjobserver\~tmp4fc49b34f2fb2e.rpt: Error detected by export DLL:. Reports refresh and export to PDF correctly in Crystal Report XI 32 without errors. Error message does not seem to be consistent. If I manually run the schedule that failed it may work. For example, I schedule seven reports to run at 10am PST, only one was successful and the remainder failed with the above error message. I then launched all 6 of the failed schedules manually, and they were all successful. However, the following day when the schedule ran as scheduled (10am PST), only one was successful and the remainder failed with the above error message.

is it possible the reportjobserver is not enabled?
if the reports are formatted to .xls or .rpt, or if the destination is to an inbox or unmanaged disk do the schedules fail?
if the 1 successful schedule is paused, will 1 of the other 6 run instead?

What else is going on on your network at that time?  Is it possible that the e-mail server is down for backup or maintenance?  Is there enough temp space available on the CMS?  Have you looked in the knowledgebase to see if this is a known issue?
